Development of Multimodal Imaging Pipelines

Multimodal imaging is a powerful approach that combines different imaging modalities to provide a more comprehensive view of biological systems and processes. By integrating information from different imaging techniques, multimodal imaging can provide advantages over using a single modality alone. Austrian BioImaging/CMI members working closely together in multimodality pipelines, which can provide a mechanistic understanding of diseases and organisms by adding structural information.

Why is access to state-of-the-art imaging technologies important?

Imaging drives modern biology and medicine. Access to state-of-the-art imaging technologies is important because it enables researchers to explore biological systems and processes in unprecedented detail and resolution. This can lead to new insights and discoveries, accelerating advances in the life sciences and ultimately improving human health and well-being.

What is the main challenge and how do we address it?

With the rapid emergence of new frontiers of opportunity, researchers face a critical challenge: acquiring access to cutting-edge imaging technologies that may be unavailable at their home institutions or beyond their expertise.

We facilitate open access to 40+ state-of-the-art imaging technologies provided by our members, covering a wide spectrum of resolution capabilities tailored specifically for biological and preclinical studies. In addition, we offer expertise in biomedical image informatics, training programs, and a range of supportive facilities, all of which are available to researchers on both national and international fronts.
